The advantages using own (paid) hosting

How do you feel while you have blogs that have been start to generate earn income for you, but then you found them all suddenly disappeared? That’s what happened to me. A few month ago (in the middle of february), I have lost about 13 blogs that start to give me income more than $200 in a month. All the blogs used free blog services in blogspot (blogger.com). You know then, only one blogs have comeback to my account, whereas the rest is still gone until now. Blogspot does not give any reason why they are deleted all of the blogs. They even do not have contact support that reliable to make reconsideration for all of these. Once you have your blogs deleted, only 5% (I guess) of your chance to get back your blogs again.

After that occurrence, I start to make own blog with own (paid) hosting and few others with free hosting. I still have blogspot blogs (and built some again), but not focuses on them. Then, after run in few months, the occurence repeatable with my account on blogspot that had been suspended without any acknowledgement or notification. It just unavailable! You know, the blogs still run online and start to give me some earning from adsense, but I can’t develop them anymore because of the suspended account. Try to contact admin support? It just waste time because in fact, there are hundred of blogspot users also get occurence at the same cases with me. Most of them who lost their blogs or suspended account try hard to contact blogger support in many ways, but the result was disappointed. Once you lost your blogs, no chance to get back it again.

After these occurence, I have some experience in different uses of blog services that I will share in this blog post.

So, what type of hosting do you have? Free hosting blog or own (paid) hosting blog?

Most of webmaster and blogger using paid hosting for their website, even not a bit that have free hosting or free blog service such as blogger.com and wordpress.com. Now, I will talk about the comparison for all type of the host. As a consideration for you who has been setting up your blog or website, just check out some facts about the advantages and disadvantages of the types.

1. Paid hosting

Advantages:
- full control of website
- sub domain support
- support php and mySql
- free advertising

Disadvantages:
- cost out for hosting
- cost out for domain
- maintenance hosting periodically
- must upload files for setting up

2. Free Blog service

Advantages:
- no cost
- no maintenance hosting
- instant setting up

Disadvantages:
- only sub domain applied
- no php and mySql support
- only html support
- account may suddenly close anytime (it happened to me)

3. Free hosting

Advantages:
- no cost
- applied for own domain
- support php and mySql

Disadvantages:
- account may suddenly closed anytime
- steal risk of database
- include advertising from hosting service
- a few control of website
- must upload files for setting up
- some host service not allowed own advertising
- limited bandwidth
- some host service only have sub domain applied

Let see, after considering the above comparison, known that having own (paid) hosting has more advantages. Maybe it’s time to all of you (if you want to a serious blogger) who using free blog services, to start to think of using your own real blog with your own hosting service.
